1940s
War time brides had little choice but to made do with less and stretch their budgets. Our designers were inspired by the simple eyelet dresses worn by military brides in backyard ceremonies. "Make do and mend" was a philosophy to be taken seriously. These smart, creative brides embodied the “Do it Yourself” motto also strongly felt today. Here brides can incorporate the attitude of “less is more” when designing simple yet beautiful invitations.
